As a Freelance marketer, I’ve always been conditioned to focus on strategy. Because when my clients got massive breakthroughs and saw $10k sales in one day, and $100k sales in a month, they would say MORE OF THAT KIND OF STRATEGY.
So when I launched my own biz, naturally I brought all of that baggage from freelancing into my own coaching business. I focused on strategy and systems aka what I thought were the “real” money-making activities.
Little known to me, it would be months of me…
- Feeling like I was creating content with no direction or end-sight in mind. I created all this value like people told me to but I had no clue how in the heck I would end up getting a client doing all of this.
- I struggled to attract clients that would be willing to invest more than $17 into my program or products.
- Hearing people’s sob stories of why they didn’t have the money to invest only to get off the phone and see a post on their Instagram about how they’re planning a trip to Thailand.
This business I was trying my hardest to build was dying before it even had a chance to get going. My rent was due, my electric bill was due, I had closed out my last Freelance client and I had $300 left in my bank account.
This was a hugeeeeeee blow to my ego. As a seasoned marketing professional, that helped grow a beauty tech startup from $0 to $1 million in a year… that has a decade of marketing experience… How in the heck did I fail this bad?!
So I let myself have that overdue panic attack, and I got real with myself.
I told myself, “Natasha, if you want to be successful, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. Think. Just think.”
I stepped away from social media, my favorite gurus, and the courses and coaching programs I’d spent over $5,000 on and got into my own head.
I stepped away from the strategy, and I stepped into my intuition and unlocked an internal shift that I needed to make in order to start seeing cash flow into my business.
I did the inner deep work and…
- I got clear with how I could use my gifts, my skills and my strengths to actually solve a problem (and not just provide a service).
- I got clear with and discovered my PERFECT MATCH Client. The client that would get the best results from my program. The client that I would have no problem confidently selling to because I KNEW in my heart WHY I was their PERFECT MATCH Coach and why working with me was no-brainer.
- I purged my old money-mindset beliefs. Now that I knew HOW I needed to show up for my clients to make them instantly recognize WHY this program was the one they’ve been praying for, that the $2500 cost was a STEAL.
And then THIS is when everything started happening fast.
Within one week of making these shifts, I sold TWO $2500 coaching packages.
From this moment on…
- The sale became easy. The women that I thought I would have to “sell” to were HAPPY to invest into themselves and said YES before I even had to ask.
- Once I sold a few $2500 coaching packages, I felt confident in doubling my packages to $5000 because my clients were seeing success and I knew that even at $5000, my program was no-brainer to my PERFECT MATCH client.
- I made more money doing LESS. I didn’t post on Instagram. Didn’t send out any emails. Retired my sales funnel. Didn’t create a new freebie for an entire year. And only created the content, I was passionate to create.
- I’d hit 5-figure months while only working with clients 7 hours total a week.
Can you imagine making $10k+ a month and only working with clients 28 hours the entire month?
That was a year ago.
I seriously went from barely making $8.75 an hour in my business to making $7,300 cash in one day.
I went from selling $2500 packages to now selling $10,000 packages.
Strategy is important. Don’t get me wrong. Those systems really do help get a consistent flow of clients each month. The problem is, your systems will never be effective until you’ve done the deep inner work and gotten full clarity with your intuitive gift, and your brand’s messaging.
Without these three, I would still be the girl undercharging and broke, worrying about how I would get my next client.
