Have you ever heard the phrase “success leaves clues”? Welp — that’s actually true. When I first made the decision four years ago to go full-time into Entrepreneurship, I was elated!
Now I get to wake up whenever I want. Wear my pajamas all day. Not put on makeup if I didn’t feel like it. Plus — I imagined myself spending more time on the beach and lolly gagging it through life. I made the horrible mistake of thinking that being talented was enough. That all I had to do was be talented and that’s how I would get clients. So as you can imagine I had no schedule, I found myself alternating between 16 hour days and days where I just didn’t get anything done.
Basically — I was KILLING myself. I was a prisoner in my business. And I didn’t feel like I was making enough money to do anything outside of pay the bills and eat out whenever I felt like it. I wanted freedom. I wanted to get to the point where I didn’t have to save up money anymore. I wanted to be able to decide right at that moment, that I wanted to do something and just go do it.
Needless to say, I thankfully had a high-end client or two that kept money in the bank, but I wasn’t able to scale or find any happiness and balance in my day. It wasn’t until I started surrounding myself around really successful women that I learned that my habits were holding me back the most.
In today’s post I am sharing with you 3 Morning Habits of Successful Female Entrepreneurs that will make you more productive while reducing burnout.
1. Journal — but not the way you think!
Journaling is so powerful as not only is it a great way to workout any resistance, blocks or negative emotions you may have but it’s a great way to track the growth of your business and keep you from getting stuck. As an Entrepreneur, you can anticipate running into problems and plateaus. Journaling helps you work through them because you get to document every strategy, process and system you’ve implemented. You get to work like a Scientist and make hypothesis, test, take notes of what happened and correct the problem so that you can break through. This prevents you from getting stuck in the same loop that you typically find yourself in when you don’t keep record of what you do.

2. Intuitive Planning over Monthly Planning
I’d like to say that planning out your whole month is smart but I’ve actually have found that monthly planning hinders me greatly. The reason being is that no matter how productive I am, sometimes things just don’t get done that day and need extra time. If I’m so strict to my schedule that I’m stressing out, I’m feeling like a failure. I’ve found that it’s best to set monthly goals — and either do a weekly plan or a day to day plan.
So here is what happened…I used to only do daily planning — where I would wake up each morning and plan my day. But now I find it to be better to at least set a monthly goal, and then a weekly objective, and then plan out the 3 big tasks I need to get done to meet that weekly objective.
After that is written out every Sunday, I then take it day by day and flesh out a more in-depth daily plan. This gives me the flexibility I need to move my schedule around which is something you will have to do a lot as an Entrepreneur.
3. Give yourself a moment of silence.
Every morning I try to give myself atleast 15 minutes to an hour of silence. I wake up everyday earlier than everyone else and I…
- Listen to a podcast. Now while this technically isn’t silent, it gives me 30 minutes to reconnect with my vision. (Check out my favorite podcasts for Girlbosses here)
- Go over my business plan so I can be reminded of my vision every single day.
- Visualize — so I stay in touch with my dreamiest goals.
- Exercise because this makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.
- Listen to a Guided Meditation so I can always stay in touch with my future self.
Give yourself time to reconnect and build intimacy with yourself. Give yourself time to reconnect with your intuition. Give yourself time to get away from other people.
Bonus: The biggest tip of them all!
Only do what feels good. I hate when people tell you that you have to do x, y and z! At the end of the day, do what feels good to you in the moment. It’s okay to have a different morning routine every single day.
Some days, I don’t journal. Some days I don’t do a guided meditation. Some days I just exercise. Listen to your body and your soul about what you need to feed yourself today to be at your very best!
