Three Mindset Shifts That Transformed My Business & Grew My Income

I can confidently say I’ve been an Entrepreneur since birth. The day I got over trying to figure out how to create a million dollar lemonade stand, I immediately began trying to figure out how to sell my design services. Then once I mastered that, I grew to social media and digital marketing and then coaching.

Even with over a decade of business experience, it wasn’t until I turned 26 that I even thought about my mindset and personal development. I was always so focused on strategy and never truly realized that by ignoring my mindset I was putting a ceiling on my success.

The moment I started working on my mindset, I gained the confidence to stop working with clients that didn’t value me, I start charging more, and because I gained clarity and respect for myself, in return my clients received even greater transformative results.

Here are the three mindset shifts that transformed my business!

SCARCITY VS ABUNDANCE MINDSET

Scarcity is what nearly killed my business. When you have a scarcity mindset, you’re constantly operating from a place of fear. And when you operate from a place of fear, you’re never truly present at the game of life.

You become that person that is not willing to invest $49 into a game-changing business course but spend $49 at the movies.

You become that person that won’t invest into a coach because you’re so worried that you’ll never make that money back.

You become that person that is afraid to ask for what you’re worth because you need to penny pinch just so you can pay your bills.

You become that person that has a successful business, makes a great income, but can’t take a vacation or expand your programs because you’re terrified of what will happen if you step away or pivot for one moment.

A scarcity mindset will keep you broke and unhappy. It will stop you from pursuing new opportunities, and from exploring your deepest passions.

It will stop you from living your dream life.

When I stopped operating from a place of fear and developed an abundance mindset, the first thing I noticed was how much easier it was to get clients.

For some reason, when you’re trying to host a discovery call and you’re operating off of fear, people are very good at sensing that even if they don’t realize it. I found by relaxing, and not projecting that desperate energy that I didn’t even realize that I projected, I could sign clients back to back.

LOVE THE PROCESS MORE THAN THE OUTCOME

I actually made this shift after binge-watching Gary Vee. As much as we don’t want to admit it, reading people’s success stories can be so overwhelming.

At first, you notice everyone’s FAST success, and you’re excited hoping to welcome that vibe into your own business. You’ve seen it everywhere. The girl that found a mentor, launched the perfect business and all of a sudden she went from selling $200 packages in one month to making $32,000 in two weeks!

Then you try to copy that same formula, and you end up lucky to sell two programs at $147 a piece (and that’s only because you backed down from your $2500 packages because those were a hard sell).

I want to keep it super real with you right now because I feel like a lot of conversation in the Female Entrepreneur community is so sparkles, dolphins and glitter in the clouds.

And while I’m not trying to sound all debbie downer, what I am trying to say is that running a business is one of the most hardest, most rewarding things you can ever have the chance to do. And no matter how easy someone makes it seem in an Instagram photo, it’s probably going to be the greatest, most challenging, personal development journey you can ever go on.

There are a lot of overnight success stories. But many of these people have seen a year or two of trial and error before they started making major headway within their business. Some of them do make $20,000 their first launch, but for most people, it evolves a lot of stumbling around until they invest into a mentor or a coach to guide them through the process. (And sometimes after that, it can take awhile, too because you still have to master what your coach taught or unlocked inside of you).

If your business doesn’t turn a profit for the first six months. That’s okay. If you don’t sell your first program for a year, that’s okay too.

And while people like me offer coaching and educational services to help you do it faster, at the end of the day, you have to learn how to enjoy the process and accept that you’re gonna have to grow with your business. You’re going to have to become more intuitive to succeed and mastering that takes time.

Time was the biggest gift I could give myself. Instead of worrying about how to compete with the next girl, or figure out how I can reach $100K within 3 months after launch, I totally got my power back, stopped worrying about what everyone else was doing and allowed myself to enjoy being a Girl CEO and connecting with this wonderful community of like-minded people.

IF NO ONE WILL LET YOU SIT AT THE TABLE, FU*K IT AND BUILD YOUR OWN.

There are some people that genuinely want to get to know you, there are others that are just nice to you because they want you to buy their programs and they won’t really have any respect for you until you become the hottest thing in your industry.

Don’t worry about the latter.

I used to get soooo caught up about making friends within my industry. I thought if I wasn’t building a close bond with everyone I came in contact with that something was wrong with me.

I thought that everytime someone that I had deep admiration and respect for turned out to be a jerk, it’s just because I wasn’t cool enough.

As a highly sensitive person, I used to take this to heart.

Eventually, I realized that everyone has a place in this Universe. That the moment you stop basing your worth off of how others treat you will be the moment you surround yourself around besties that want you to win.

That when you stop trying so hard to be apart of someone else’s movement, and you hold your truths and values close to heart, you will become a magnet for the people that will love and cherish you the most.

This was so important for me in my business because when you’re an Entrepreneur, things can get rather lonely. There are times you’re going to want to quit. And sometimes you just want someone to validate your ideas without having to shell out tens of thousands of dollars to do it. This is why having a business bestie is so important. But it’s only a true bestie when the energy is right and two people are in the same place, and care about the success of one another mutually.

If no one will let you into their squad, create your own unfuckwithable girly gang!
